About the examination

Joint CSIR-UGC NET June 2022 released by the NTA on the official website. The CSIR NET notification contains important details regarding the exam including the application process, eligibility criteria,  exam pattern, syllabus, and others.

The CSIR UGC NET June 2022 exam has been announced. However, the CSIR HRDG postponed the exam due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Last Date for the submission of online application form is given below:

10 August 2022 (Upto 11:50 PM)

The date of the examination will be shortly announced  by the NTA (National Testing Agency). You just have to fill in the venue out of the available options on the application form.

The examination conducted by the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), India (Conducted by NTA), a premier national R&D organization, is among the world’s largest publicly funded R&D organizations. CSIR’s pioneering sustained contribution to S&T human resource development is acclaimed nationally. Human Resource Development Group (HRDG), a division of CSIR realizes this objective through various grants, fellowship schemes etc. Human Resource Development Group has been contributing significantly towards producing an inquiring society and fast-growing knowledge economy.

The CSIR-UGC NET examination is conducted in six subject areas namely, Chemical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences and Engineering Sciences. Depending upon the area of graduation or post-graduation in the field of science, thousands of candidates appear for the examination which is conducted twice every year.

The examination is scheduled on usually the 2nd or 3rd sunday of the week in the months of June and December every calendar year.

 Eligibility – Life Sciences

  • B.Tech
  • M.Tech
  • M.Sc.

Result of the examination
The result of the CSIR-UGC NET is declared usually in 4-6 weeks after the date of the examination. The final merit list of the successful qualified applicants is divided into two parts.

  • JRF (NET) CSIR: The successful applicants are deemed to be qualified to apply for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in a project in a CSIR and other central & state funded research organization and are also deemed qualified for Lecturership (NET) in all central & state funded universities and colleges. The candidates are eligible for to receive regular JRF-NET fellowship in case they pursue PhD program.
  • Lecturership (NET): The successful applicants are deemed to be qualified for the Lecturership (NET). The candidates are also eligible to apply for recruitment as a lecturer as well as for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) in a scheme/project, if otherwise suitable as per the eligibility criteria of that scheme/project. The applicants are also eligible to pursue PhD program with or without any fellowship other than JRF-NET.
