According to Nutritionists, by increasing the intake of omega-3s in your diet, one can decrease the risk of getting heart diseases. The omega-3 fatty acids are present in both fish or flax. A substantial amount of evidence exists which supports that the heart-health benefits of eicosapentaenoic acid and docosahexaenoic acid (EPA and DHA). These are marine-derived omega-3 fatty acids. However a very less evidence are there which demonstrate the positive effects of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), a plant-based omega-3 fatty acid.
