mRNA plays as important role as DNA

Scientists till most recent times have mostly ignored the damaged mRNA, because these DNA transcripts are ephemeral and have a very small life span. The main role of mRNA is to transport transcript of genes from DNA to the ribosome for making proteins. Recent studies and experiments have forced the scientists to understand the importance of mRNA and clearing up the oxidised mRNA after it pass on the information to ribosomes. Oxidised messenger RNA jams the cellular machines that make protein. The failure to clear the jams caused by oxidized messengers is associated with neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’.
