You discover a simple microbe which has a minimal genome. it only has 30 genes for basic metabolism, 20genes for ribosome, 20 genes for DNA and RNA synthesis and polymerization. Approx how big will this genome be??
a) 10kb b)100kb c)1000kb d)10000kb
Genome size of a particular organism when the number of genes is given can be calculated by the following formula
No. of genes = Genome size/1000
I think it’s 1000kb
It’s 100 kb
Can anyone please explain how to solve this. if i go by this formula it is 70/1000. how do we get 100kb as answer ?
